Abstract
Alveolar softpart sarcoma(ASPS) is an extremely rare type of tumor arising from the soft tissue. It has a propensity to metastasize to lung or bone and rarely develops as an intracranial mass. We report a case of ASPS with multiple skull and intracranial metastases. A 25-year-old man visited our hospital due to headache and drowsy mentality. Brain computed tomography and magnetic resonance imaging revealed multiple enhanced masses on skull and parietal lobe. The patient underwent surgery to remove skull lesions for biopsy. The histopathological diagnosis was ASPS. At 10 days after the operation, his mentality was worsened to stuporous state. We performed emergency operation to remove left parietal mass. However, we failed to remove the mass gross totally due to the massive tumoral bleeding. We performed embolization to feeding arteries and Gamma knife radiosurgery for the remnant mass. Despite systemic chemotherapy after the neurosurgical managements, he was expired after one year.
